Music
Our exciting music curriculum aims to inspire our children and support them in fostering a passion for music. Using Charanga Music School, all pupils take part in regular class music sessions where they have the opportunity to listen to, perform and compose using a wide range of music.
Throughout their St Margaret's journey, children will experience music from different times and cultures. They are taught about the different ways music can be structured, and how to recognise instruments and moods. The children have the opportunity to perform and compose using a variety of tuned and un-tuned percussion instruments, as well as developing singing techniques for school productions and assemblies. Many cross-curricular links are made with music across the year groups.
All of our children have access to Charanga Music World at home where they can consolidate their learning, learn extra skills on their musical instruments and play fun, interactive games which support their continuing development. This aspect of their home learning is a particular favourite for our children.
